Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. / Galleon Enterprise mission is to manufacture quality drill string products for the oil and gas, water well, exploration, blast hole mining and raise bore drilling industries. At Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. / Galleon Enterprise, we continuously improve the quality of our drill string products by updating our machinery and machining procedures, our welding procedures and our quality assurance programs to keep up with the ever increasing demand for excellence in the oil and gas and mining industry.

Our goal is to produce durable drill string components from quality materials as near to perfect dimensionally as possible, while maintaining a very competitive cost to our customers.

*Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. was formed by Jimmy A. Harmon in 1978 to manufacture replacement parts for down hole roller reamers for resale to rental tool companies in the Permian Basin.

*In the next two years Harmon’s Machine Works was manufacturing roller reamer parts for well known companies such as Sii Drilco Industrial, LOR (now Weatherford) and Technical Drilling Tools (later Oncor and Baker Hughes).

*In 1980 Harmon’s Machine Works combined with K & K Machine (J.W. Kelly) to form a rental tool company known as ODE (Oilwell Drilling Equipment). This was a successful rental tool company until it was bought out by LOR in 1982.

*At this time Harmon’s Machine Works and K & K Machine, as separate companies, continued to manufacture reamer parts, reamer bodies, IB stabilizers, key seat wipers and other down hole drilling tools for LOR.

These were known as “boom times” in the oilfield and as all booms come, they are always followed by “bust times” in the oilfield.

*In 1983, Harmon’s Machine Works combined with several area companies to form Galleon Enterprise to manufacture drill string products for the mining industry. The name Galleon was used in reference to a Spanish ship looking for a positive direction to sail.

*Since 1983, Galleon Enterprise has become one of the most respected suppliers for quality drill string products for blast hole, water well, exploration and raise drilling applications.

*As always Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. continues to manufacture quality oilwell drill string products including roller reamers of all types, subs, round, square or triangle drill collars, integral blade stabilizers, key seat wipers and short drill collars.

*Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. is an API spec 7 licensed facility for threading of rotary shouldered connections.

Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. / Galleon Enterprise (South Shop) has 7,200 sq. ft. of shop space and 1,560 sq. ft. of office space. The shop and office are located on 3.0 acres of land with a security fence and land improvements. This shop is used for the large and heavy manufacturing.


Harmon’s Machine Works, Inc. / Galleon Enterprise (North Shop) has 4,800 sq. ft. of shop space and 1,200 sq. ft. of office space. The shop and office is located on 3.2 acres of land with a security fence and land improvements. This shop is used to manufacture small parts, heavy grinding and our heat treat operation.
